I'm in a 12 team Yahoo Fantasy Plus keeper points-based league currently in it's 11th season. The best i've ever finished in this league is 7th out of 12. Team fee is $150 and total purse is about $800 for 1st place.

Awesome job getting value on your pitching staff. I bet you one of Hughes, Hanson, Haren, or Burnett puts up big numbers that you'll rely on every week. Chase Headley's thumb is a bad deal, but it's a problem you can get around. Pounce on a potential Middlebrooks slow start and find a trade there to get some Headley insurance. One way or another Middlebrooks will work his way to a .260/~20/~80 kind of season, wouldn't be surprised if he turns around some early struggles and makes some mid-season buyer very happy with a nice second half rebound. He made good adjustments after slumps all through his minor league career. Smart hitter, good tools, good approach. I have no faith in Headley. Cruz and Ethier will play their way off your bench. BJ Upton sucks and you should check on Jed Lowrie's availability on the wire because Jeter could have an ugly year. C through 3B you definitely have the potential for big production. I'm an Ike believer. Looks like a playoff team on paper, man.

Here are the top 25 3bmen left in my league to sub in for chase headley. The top 3 I was looking at were Trevor Plouffe, Mark Reyonalds and Chris Johnson. They have the best HR/RBI combos but strikeouts could be a concern for Reynolds.

Pick up Reynolds for now. Keep an eye on some trade candidates like Middlebrooks or Martin Prado. If you're not penalized for K's, Reynolds would be a fine replacement until Headley's thumb is fine if you want to go that route. If you're like me and get really nervous over hand/wrist/finger injuries, find a buyer after Headley's first sign of a hot streak and in the mean time work out a trade for somebody under valued like Prado. There's definitely a work around. I'm glad I basically swear off all hitters on the Padres and Mariners because I'm usually really aggressive on third basemen.

Thanks. I'll get Reyonlds if I can.

I need to get another pitcher to take the place of Brandon Beachy as he is injured. Here are the top 25 pitchers left in my league. I was targeting Brandon McCarthy, Alexi Ogando, Dempster, or SHawn Marcum. They all have decent K/BB ratios.

Ride Molina. You got a good catcher, don't worry about that. Even if he has a down year, you're still better than half your league at C probably.
