Brewers sign Lohse, 3 yr/$33M

I don't actually mind the deal on their part because I do think Lohse is partially for real. I don't know that he is worth owning in fantasy though.

Probably the bigger impact is that most likely Fiers or Peralta will start in AAA now. My guess is it will be Peralta for service time implications but Fiers hasn't looked very good this spring so maybe he will go down for performance.

Finally. Where do you rank him now? Edwin Jackson territory?

Kind of a 2nd version of Randy Wolf. Maybe a different type of pitcher but kind of the same situation and it's rare that you can have too much pitching. He's alright but I'm pretty uninterested in fantasy.

It is a mediocre infield defense, the park inflates HR for LHB but he does a good job neutralizing them with his sinker. It also inflates Ks so you might see him be more of a 6.3 K/9 type of guy. He is worth like Tim Hudson from a couple years ago, so late round type of dude if you just need innings.

Everything I hear locally points to Fiers going down or going to the bullpen so I'd probably avoid him for now.

I'd agree, Peralta is starting game 3, and I don't think they pull Narveson the experienced lefty as long as his shoulder is healthy again, which I think is the case

The latest real "news" was that it would be Peralta, Narveson and Fiers battling for 2 spots

Milwaulkee Journal Sentinel saying Fiers is the odd man out but they are not backing it up with a quote from Roenicke.

If it is true, it is disappointing as I was expecting big things from Fiers but I believe he will pitch himself back into the rotation quickly.

Nein!

Almost dropped Fiers in one league, but waited for confirmation. Narveson will go to the pen, so it'll be an all-righty rotation. (H/t rotoworld.)

NICE. Thanks for the link. I was hoping Fiers would make it. That would have been a big disappointment as I drafted both Fiers and Cashner this year under the assumption they would both make the rotation.
