Masters League Waivers Poll

Moderators: kaiser, ironman

How should waiver claims on players with no MLB experience be handled?

All players will available on waivers immediately, and throughout the season, regardless of their status on the major league roster. (Gyorko will be returned to twistedude at a cost of $37).

i guess i dont see the disconnect. FAAB is in full effect, giving everyone a fair shot at each and every player. Thats the whole idea behind FAAB. If somebody wants to spend 37 bucks on a Padre bat, more power to him.

I was under the impression the 'no mlb experience' rule only applied to the draft, and once waivers were opened all players would be fair game. I'm not in this league so I won't be voting, but that's just how I understood it.

This disconnect seems to be coming from the fact that some of our league mates thought that those players who were not eligible for the draft were also not eligible for a waiver claim until after they had been added to the 25-man roster. Therefore, they may not have placed a claim on a player like Gyorko or Ryu because they were waiting until those players were officially on the big league roster.

I believe that many in the league were operating under that same impression. But since the rules are not specific (or, in truth, even existent) we are trying to find the most equitable resolution.

looks like a hung jury...less than half of the league is in favor and 5 of the 7 votes are likely owners who 'bought' ryu, rondon, puig, fujikawa etc..
5 voters are against allowing those claims to stand w/3 MIA..

certainly this vote shows the confusion and ambiguity of the situation..
