Leonys Martin

These are not call ups though, but guys that will likely start the season playing for the big team.

Call ups... maybe Wheeler for the Mets?
D'Arnaud @ Catcher for the Mets?
Not sure on others.

Oh and the Japanese shortstop. Forgot the name, but its Japanese and he's starting. So you cant miss him. Hes older, but a base stealer who hits for average. Maybe an Ichiro type.

On Nakajima -- I really wouldn't count on Ichiro numbers. And maybe not any numbers, at the start:

Martin won't play full time this year, he stinks at stealing bases which is his easiest path to fantasy relevance. Where Martin is going I wouldn't touch him, if he lasts until one of your last picks though I'd go for it.

I saw a couple of his starts this spring and his fastball velocity never returned to mid 90's (he's sitting 89-91). The only plus is that it has movement. He was also around the zone, but was missing the glove with regularity. He's fine as an end of draft play, but I'd rather take the chance on someone like Shelby Miller. Miller offers much greater pure stuff and has quite a history of being able to miss bats. He has fantasy ace upside.

Don't think the loss of the velocity is an issue. The Braves asked him to work on his delivery to reduce the wear/tear on the body. This spring he's actually resembled a pitcher with more options + movement + deception. I'm buying.

Anybody know a reasonable ETA for Wheeler. Heard he had a lights out spring, some scouts saying better stuff then Strasburg. Is Wheeler a June callup to the big leagues? as soon as service time is up, similar to Myers for Tampa?

Is he a good stash for this season?

Mets potential rotation
Niese
Marcum (injuries?)
Gee
Harvey
Santana

Who would Wheeler beat out, Gee?

Yeah, I'm definitely thinking June 1 for Wheeler. I'm sure there will be at least one injury . Right now Santana is not healthy so Hefner is replacing him. I highly doubt they would remove Gee from the rotation if he is healthy and effective.
