Which 4 low-end Pitchers? WHIR

Postby misterf » Sat Mar 23, 2013 7:17 pm

It's a 12-team, 5x5 roto league.

Help me pick which 4 low-end SP's I want on my team:

Ryan Dempster
Jeremy Hellsickson
Alex Cobb (waivers)
Alexi Ogando (waivers)
Brandon McCarthy
Clay Buchholz
Edwin Jackson
Andy Pettite
Tommy Milone
Johan Santana
Julio Teheran (waivers)
Mike Fiers

If you were to have 4 of these guys on your team, which 4 would you choose? Since waiver claims would be involved for a few guys, ranking your top 4-5 guys in order would be a HUGE help

I little background:

Two of these guys are already on my bench......a couple of them just hit the waiver wire.....and the rest are free agents.

In addition to the two guys I already have, I have two other roster spots that are about to open up. I'm about to drop Broxton, and I have Eaton, whom I am about to move to the DL.

That means I have room for 4 low-end (but hopefully high-upside) pitchers.

I want to fill all 4 available roster spots with SP's since I I only have 4 solid SP's (Price, Cueto, Shields and Morrow)....so i really need more depth. And, even more importantly, there really aren't any hitters options on the waiver wire I am interested in.

I feel like they are all pretty much #6 fantasy starters that I have in my "late round flyer" tier. Hellickson is the one guy I have ranked more as a #5 fantasy SP...but he still scares me. And Teheran is the guy quickly moving up my rankings, but not sure if he is worth taking over some of the other names on this list.

Thanks in advance! Of course, WHIR!!!

Fiers
Ogando
Dempster
Milone
Hellickson
McCarthy
Cobb

Fiers is tricky after the end of last year. His strikeout and walk rates last year have me very interested though. I think Ogando and Dempster should both have decent years, though the guys after them probably all have more upside.

Fiers, Cobb, Teheran, Ogando, Hellickson. Teheran had another outstanding performance today in ST. I know you can't put a ton of stock into spring but I like him. Help me out as well! No link so just look for my name on the left. I think it's just a few down from the top!

Sums up my list... I flirted with Ogando a little.
