Need Trade Help! WHIR!

Postby dominicfaiola » Sat Mar 23, 2013 3:15 pm

So I've been discussing a trade in my 4th year keeper league. Trying to figure out fair value and what I should offer. It is a 14 team H2H points league!

My Team:
C Salvador Perez
1b Freddie Freeman
2b Brandon Phillips
3b Manny Machado
SS Elvis Andrus
OF Andrew McCutchen
OF Justin Upton
OF Desmond Jennings
Util Josh Reddick

SP Strasburg
SP J. Zimmerman
SP J. Parker
SP Alexi Ogando
SP Wandy Rodriguez
SP Marco Estrada
SP James McDonald
RP Grant Balfour
RP Joel Hanrahan

His Team:
C Mauer
1b Hosmer
2b Murphy
3b M. Cabrera
SS Jeter
OF Bourn
OF Markakis
OF Fowler
Util Longoria
Bench Crawford
Bench Berkman

SP Cliff Leee
SP Sabathia
SP Dickey
SP Fister
SP McCarthy
SP Edwin Jackson
RP Putz

Just trying to get an idea of what to offer, he wants OF help and I need Pitching. He has also said for the right price he would give Longo. As always WHIR!

Honestly, I do not think you need a lot of pitching. I do not love hit staff in LT. Regarding Longoria, I would probably try trading Upton for him straight up. I think Upton poses some risk, you have 3 other OF and Longoria will provide you Machado insurance. If Machado lights it up, you can have 2 3B for trade bait later when you might need something else on your team.

Thank for your comment. I kept Machado.

Not sure you need Longo enough to give up what it would take to get him. You could maybe try Jennings for Dickey, thats about as close as it may get in a 1-for-1. I also don't think your staff is all that bad. Strasburg is the ace. You have a solid #2 in Zimm, and I like Estrada/Parker/Ogando as a very solid 3-5. I wouldn't trade any higher than Jennings though, cause I'm just not sure you'll see the return.

I know making deals work for both are tough, good luck!

Haha that guy has worse pitching then you do. Your pitching staff isn't that bad really, you just prob need a closer. Which you can usually find on the FA/WW if you pay close enough attention.

You could try and offer him Reddick and Desmond Jennings for Longoria though, just to see if he bites.
