Simple drafting question? Please help!

Postby StealingHome » Sat Mar 23, 2013 9:20 am

I'm drafting soon and had a question regarding players with multi-position eligibility. This is a Yahoo! draft by the way. If I'm drafting Zobrist (who is listed as 2B, SS and OF), will he automatically be slotted into the 2B slot? It doesn't seem that during the draft that I can move him to SS. Is that correct? If I pick Zobrist before Aaron Hill (2B), it looks like Hill would then move to my Utility sport or the Bench, right? I can't reposition players during the draft, right?

This is kind of a weird question, but it affects my draft strategy.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Not sure about Yahoo whether it is smart enough to reposition the players or not. I do not think it is though and it uses the default position but short of asking them or trying it, I do not know of a way to find out.

I tried it in a mock draft. Unless I'm missing something, you can't reposition players during your draft in Yahoo!.

No, it won't allow you to. Not sure that it matters though - last I knew you didn't have to fill each position (you'd jsut carry an extra bench player and move Zobrist around after the draft).

This is the correct answer here. I am a Yahoo! Commish.
