Do I have to take Cabrera?

Postby notoriusbug » Sat Mar 23, 2013 7:41 am

14 team keeper league (keep 8) stanard 5x5...2 teams are folding and league has voted to not find new owners, so the players from those teams are going back into the draft...so we are now 12 teams

I have the first pick and there are some great players now available - Miguel Cabrerea, Strasberg, Beltre, and Votto being the best...

My pitching was horrible last year (thanks Tim Lincecum, who I'm not keeping this year). I am only keeping Darvish for SP (other keepers Longoria, Tulowitzki, Harper, Ellsbury, Santana, Rizzo, Profar)....

I know Cabrera is considered a top 3 player...and in some rankings #1 overall....but I need pitching help and being able to grab Strasberg would do wonders for my pitching...

Am I crazy for thinking of anyone but Miggy?

Thanks

Does it change anything if the best available SP in the draft will be Shields, Kennedy, Lester, Peavy....almost the entire top 25 SP are keepers....I only have Darvish...any thoughts? Take Cabrera and try to trade Longoria for a SP?
