Hey guys just wanted your opinion on this rule I'm trying to implement in my first year of a dynasty league.
12 Teams, H2H Each 6x6. Each team gets a 26-man active roster and 14-man inactive roster.
You gain a "year of service" for each player when they have reached a threshold of match ups in your active roster.
You may only callup/send down between active/inactive between match ups, not during.
Our season is 44 Match ups long (biweekly).
Gain a "Year" when you've been in the active lineup:
15 Match ups (Offense and RP)
5 Starts (SP)
Your team must adhere to 100 total Years of Service or fewer at the beginning of each season.
HOWEVER, you may protect 3 players (their years of service don't count towards the total)
With the 3 protected players, that averages 100/23 = Just over 4 years per slot.
I would like comments on if you think this system would work, if the cap is too high or low, and what you would set it at? The idea is to have some turnover in the offseason draft, but only enough that each team would be dumping 3-5 players max each year. I'm thinking if anything I will lower the cap since the bottom 5+ on your active roster will usually be recycled to the point they average 1 year each anyways.
