Hanley Ramirez out 2-10 weeks

Postby Pogotheostrich » Wed Mar 20, 2013 2:42 pm

"Based on what they know, #Dodgers think Hanley could be out 2-10 weeks, depending on severity of injury."

I know he had an MRI done so I guess they are just waiting for the results.

Man, that's a wide range of time. I wonder how much a thumb affects one's hitting for a season. Anyone bumping Ramirez down a round or more?

Check out pedroia and J. Upton's splits last year, both played through thumb injuries and improved in the 2nd half and had 'down' seasons. D. Gordon should probably be picked up in 14+ team leagues and looking at the roster I would guess they try to lead him off even though his OBP is awful. Just like last year I don't like him though so I couldn't find room for him, I'd rather take my chances on Brian Roberts staying healthy for 2-10 weeks~.

There is also a chance Mattingly has Luis Cruz slide to SS and Uribe/Hairston/Punto to start at 3B. I wouldn't count on Gordon starting.

Pretty big influence. I'm bumping him down at least a full round, probably more than that. There's probably not much reason for me to speculate how late I'd take him, since I can't imagine I'll end up with him now.

Thumb injuries are the worst. I would let someone else draft him unless he falls crazy low.

Wasn't really a fan before, definitely not now.

It should be noted that Hanley wouldn't have tried that hard if it was only a spring training game... ;-)
