Gotta do my NFBC Draft preference and just wanted input on your draft position preference in a 12 man 5x5 redraft

Honestly I'm liking anywhere in the top 4 but to be more exact either 1 or 2. That way I can land a for sure M-Cab or Braun. Then I can come back and grab another good hitter at the end of the 2nd and still some good pitching left too in the beginning of the 3rd round.

Just depends on who you are targeting I guess.
I mean if an owner wanted Upton and Harper, pick 8-12 would be good.

Closer to #1 the better pretty much. I personally hate the very ends so if I have to pick late I'd rather be like #9 than #12 even though the value isn't really any better.

Those are your ideal first two?

I prefer the end of the draft - 10, 11 or 12. Get an elite hitter/pitcher combo. You could get Fielder/Kershaw. I don't see a dramatic difference for picks 4-12.

Bottom of the round.
I need to leave the first two rounds with at least one of Pujols, Fielder, Votto or Longoria, or I end up panicking.

If I end up with Longoria on my team after round 2 I figure I've already failed at the draft~.
In a 12 team league the 24th player is more or less the same as the 12th so picking early is by far no question asked not even remotely close the best place. The only real question is do you like to pick in the middle vs late because by about pick 8 or so the talent is pretty watered down. Some people like picking at the end for some reason, good players prefer to be a bit off the end so they can let guys drop and get more value~. Obviously you can see that I hate picking on the end, you have to reach for guys you like and you can never draft for value since the guys you 'value' more than others will be gone 23 picks later when it is your turn again.
Anyone who thinks they control a draft from an end is deluding themselves as well.
