I disagree with the crowd on Carpenter. I think he's a really good hitter. I admit, that his track record isn't really that impressive, but every time I see the guy play, I come away impressed. He's 6'3, 200 lbs...he's a big, strong guy.

I think he will be a valuable real baseball player for the Cardinals. I just don't see a valuable fantasy player. He isn't a true .300 hitter, more like a .280 guy. He isn't a 15+ HR guy or at least has never shown that type of power. He isn't as slow as the SB look but I don't see him with 10+ SB. He isn't likely batting in the top of the order unless Beltran gets hurt. It is a hard sell to convince me he has much value with that skillset.

When all else fails pick the guy batting in the top or middle of the order, I don't want a mediocre skill #7 hitter on an NL team. Same reason I'm not big on Segura even though I think he has the same skills as an Aybar.

Well I guess the Roberts hype train never even had a chance to leave the station.
As expected, already hurt... and not even a week into the season.

Yeah I was hoping to have at least a month so some younger players got time to win jobs.
