Hmm this is a tough one...my gut is to say no because I really like the hitters you're giving away. It'd be interesting to see the landscape of your whole team and that might help me make a final decision. Another red flag for me though is that he's giving you more players, obviously meaning he thinks your players are more valuable and he has to give more to get them. Overall, here's how I'd rank the players in the trade:
Verlander Evan AGon Lee Kinsler Freeman Seager
I know you're getting the best player, but you're giving up the 2nd-4th in the deal. I'd pass
Thanks for the help on mine... This is a really tough one and I could go either way on it. If I had a gun to my head I would probably take it for the added 2B. I don't love Seager, but he can probably hold down 3B until something better comes along...plus Longoria will probably just get hurt or slump down the stretch (former bitter owner).
It's pretty close, but I can see it work out for you if things spin right. I see Lee/Verlander as a negligible difference, and Freeman/Seager could compile to something similar to Gonzalez IF he doesn't bounce back to the old days this year. Longoria for Kinsler is actually a decent swap given their histories and skill set. I suppose you have to hope that Seager keeps up his good stats from last year, but as an extra player he might be worth the gamble if you need the extra body for your team.
If this was a roto league, I think it would be tougher to decide, but in a points league I looked around and I think both A-Gon and Longoria both are more valuable in a points league than a standard roto. A-Gon especially seems to pick up more value in the points league.
In a points league , I think you'd get the best player but you would net out potentially two top-30/40 guys and the other owner would net out up to three, with A-Gon and Longo valued a little higher.
I think I'd have to pass on that offer, but would still try to find a way to grab Verlander since he seems willing to deal him and Verlander is even more valuable in a points league. I suspect he's valuing A-Gon pretty high, so I'd try Lee/A-Gon for Verlander/Kinsler. He'll probably reject it and then I'd counter with Lee/Longo for Verlander/Kinsler/Seager (or Freeman) and see what happens (probably not, but you never know). Otherwise, I'd look around or go Lee/someone else not listed for Verlander where you're the one giving a two-for-one.
I know it looks like a nice trade, but I think you can do better.
I would reject this. Verlander is nice, but you're giving up too much. Agon and Longoria are a bit of a risk, but their upsides are so much more than Freeman and Kinsler.
