I'd take the Reyes side

The Reyes side is certainly better but if someone really needed SP'ing and believed Sale could continue to be a near ace I can understand the trade. And not vetoable. That's only for collusion or a level of stupidity that that can wreck a league. Of course at that point you should actually replace the owner.

Another factor is that Reyes turns 30 in a couple of months and history is not kind to speedy SS's as they hit their mid 30's. Provided Sale's arm doesn't fall off he could be the most valuable piece long term. The prospects could also but prospects are highly variable and disappoint all of the time. I trade all of my prospects away every year (Myers, Bogaerts, Arcia, Sano, Skaggs, Parker and a bunch of others in the last 6 months).

Not at all vetoable...Oscar and Shelby, who says they turn out to be anything other than average major league players? You can't veto because of "potential".

I'm in this league and I'll chime in here that the Reyes team was the one who proposed the trade.

I don't see it as vetoable either, though I do prefer the Reyes side myself.

Oddly enough in the redraft almost everyone goes for young talent that are a few years from being viable. So there's quite a bit of proven veterans available for positional needs and still a few decent prospects, but not a ton.

I'd veto because how much worth is there in a 2nd round pick in this league? Looks like a top 25 player and 2 top 5 prospects for a pick w/ minimal value, a top 20ish starter, and a outfielder getting drafted in the 150s. The Sale side clearly loses in both today and tomorrow aspects.

This appears to be the sticking point in a lot of the guys calling foul. His team was in last place last season by a hefty margin, though his team isn't really that bad. Just a lot of young talent.

On the face of it, I don't think I'd veto. Although the trade isn't even, I don't have much faith that Taveras will be useful this year. Otoh, I don't have a good grasp of what type of player a 2nd round pick translates to in a league like this.
