As to Joe Mauer's original query, bayside has the idea ... go for the known quantities in the 7th-8th innings who can boost you in other categories (K/9, WHIP, ERA, etc.). In some cases you may even be pleasantly surprised when they ascend to the 9th inning spot in place of a struggling/injured closer.
