Getting a long term SS would be a huge get but I have this man-crush on Allen Craig. I actually have more depth at SS than OF but Scutaro and YEscobar are either old or not that great. Simmons has looked great playing for the Netherlands in the WBC. A lot of solid contact.
Reasons for: long term SS Craig is injury prone
Reasons against: Simmons looks to have average fantasy ceiling Craig is awesome when healthy
I wish that you could get more for Craig than just Simmons, as one has proven some MLB ability versus the other in a shortened season. It's hard to convince someone to trade away their 'man-crush', but if you've got power support and need help with AVG/runs, then I like the trade. With Craig, it's hard to see above the hype and excitement that he has built up. But if you are thinking long term in a dynasty, Simmons makes a lot of sense.
just as a clarification - it's a H2H pts league. I'm also angling for a prospect like Tyrell Jenkins but he's only a borderline top 100 guy (with upside).
Yeah I pass as well. Craig will just outscored Simmons by too much to warrant a trade. I would roll with Scutaro and Escobar for the time being, until you find that right offer.

I agree, with emphasis on the Right Offer. The more Craig produces this season, the better the deal you'll be able to make. Someone will bite eventually and be willing to pay enough to make it a no-brainer, which this one definitely isn't. I'd look at teams with aging 1Bs and see if they have anything you might like. Either way, I'd stand pat on this one.
