Keeper League Trade Question

Postby TheGreekness » Wed Mar 06, 2013 7:31 am

Hello, New to the forum happy to be here.

I've got a trade question.

The League is Weekly H2H, Keepers, Minor League Roster as well

The Trade that was proposed to me is as followed:

I would receive: SP Matt Scherzer, and 3B Prospect Miguel Sano

I would trade away: SP Trevor Cahill, and OF Prospect Oscar Tavares

This is my team at the moment

C: Joe Mauer
1B: Paul Goldschmidt
2B: Neil Walker
SS: Elvis Andrus
3B: Michael Young
LF: Josh Willingham
CF: Curtis Granderson
RF: Hunter Pence
DH/Util: Lance Berkman
Bench: Denard Span

SP: Gio Gonzalez
SP: Matt Latos
SP:Trevor Cahill
SP: Andy Pettitte
SP: Edwin Jackson
SP: Wade Davis
SP: Shaun Marcum

Pitching is a huge commodity in this league, On Average all teams have around 7-9 SP at any given time.

There is still also 2 more rounds of draft left at the moment.

I just wanted to get some opinions and thoughts on that trade. I know Scherzer is a better pitcher then Cahill for the most part and will get more run support. I also know that Tavares is the Cardinal's top prospect as well as a top 10 prospect league wide. Just don't know if Scherzer's value over Cahill is enough to overcome the value of Tavares over Sano. Thanks for anything you respond with

I'd do that. Scherzer is a lot better than Cahill and Sano is still a decent prospect.

I'd stay put. You say pitching is 7-9 keep, so to me that says people are just throwing innings racking up the counting stats. I think with that league strategy you should keep the best hitter.

I think you need Sano more than you need Tavares (who yes is an awesome prospect) - Entire team is aging. I might consider blowing the thing up and just completely rebuilding from the ground up. No I'm smarter than Loria...lol

I think Scherzer/Sano is the better group for you. I think Scherzer would be a great #3 SP for your roster. I don't think Sano is going to provide much value you this year so max out on Max.

Also, I read somewhere (I think CBS) that Cahil is a much better roto pitcher than H2H.
