I think Torre made it clear that he was only taking stars that were starters. Mauer instead of Posey. Phillips instead of Pedroia and Kinsler. Wright instead of Longoria and Zim. The OF is stacked. Tulo and Fielder are missing but you can't get all of the stars.

Kimbrel is there... The starters are missing though. Dickey and Gio are actually a pretty start to the rotation though.

He's not taking stars to sit on the bench or use a constantly rotating lineup. And that is how this team is mostly constructed.
