After the 1st overall pick in the draft, assuming it is Braun, what is the best strategy for that team to follow at pick 24 and 25? In Yahoo most of the elite bats are gone.
Anyone drafted yet with the 1st pick and have a strategy that they used at the turn

Well in a 12 team league I would just look at adding the 2 next best bats unless one of the big name SP had dropped. Try to get a good base in HR and to a lesser degree SB.

My plan is to take 2 bats unless a stud SP falls. Right now it looks like most of the big bats will be gone leaving these bats available.
Pedroia
Heyward
Hanley Ramirez
Jose Reyes
Edwin Encarnacion
Ideally one of Hamilton, Wright, Justin Upton would be available because I'm not crazy about any of the 5 bats above.

Round 2 and 3 I would just grab the next two bats. The couple of mocks I have done, I am usually able to grab a combo of Wright or Reyes or Han-Ram etc. You may have to reach a little but theres plenty of talent left with the 24th and 25th picks.

Yup. I like some combination of Haprer/Upton/A. Jones at the turn even if it means 3 OF'ers with my first three picks. Sometimes you'll find someone like Beltre or Tulo fall too.

Usually I'm grabbing Pedroia, Reyes, Wright, Upton, or if one of the stud SP's fall I'll take one of them. But I have no problem fielding a nice squad having the #1 overall pick

I'm really high on Pedrioa this year. He was slowed by the thumb injury to start the year but once he got healthy he basically repeated 2011 which was a 1st round value type of season. He also might bat 3rd every day. I would find a way to work him into one of your picks if you can. Then I'd go with a heavier HR guy depending on who is left.
