So I'm in a new dynasty league starting up our slow draft shortly, and I just recently realized the implications of one of the rules in place.
As set up, we consider anyone with <150ip or <200ab to be a rookie eligible/minor leaguer, and is available to draft as such. Seeing as we are holding our minors draft first, this throws a wrench in most traditional rankings.
Here is the list I came up with of the affected guys who are worth considering.
Mike Fiers 129.2 ip
A. Chapman 135 ip
Kenley Jansen 145.2 ip
Leonys Martin 60 pa
Jean Segura 151 ab
Manny Machado 191 ab
Alex Liddi 156 ab
Yasmani Grandal 192 ab
Brett Jackson 120 ab
Anthony Gose 166 ab
Brandon Guyer 48 ab
Addison Reed 62.1 ip
Greg Holland 145.2 ip
Steve Cishek 122 ip
Kelvin Herrera 86.1 ip
Tom Wilhelmsen 112 ip
Vinnie Pestano 137 ip
Sergio Santos 120 ip
Jordan Walden 114.2 ip
Ryan Cook 81 ip
Matt Harvey 59.1 ip
AJ Griffin 82.1 ip
Drew Smyly 99.1 ip
Drew Pomeranz 115 ip
Jacob Turner 67.2 ip
Wily Peralta 29 ip
Dan Straily 39.1 ip
Starling Marte 167 ab
I bolded a few guys who really stood out. Mostly a lot of relief pitchers, with a few of last year's rookies thrown in.
Given the opportunity, who do you wind up slotting in up in the tops of the MiLB draft? Does Chapman become the top prospect, especially shifting to a starter? Machado or Profar? How do you compare Grandal (suspension and all) with d'Arnaud and Zunino?
I've been thinking about this the last few days, and figured the idea might be intriguing to a few guys over here.
