Hmm..

so, my league this year voted on adding OPS and QS and stats this season.

In a H2H league that has OPS added as a stat, do you consider M-Cab over Braun when you factor in that steals aren't as important in H2H compared to Roto?

It's not like M-Cab's OPS is that much better than Braun's and it's certainly possible Braun could have a better OPS, but something to consider maybe?

I had this discussion with a league mate of mine before the season. I've always been a Cabrera fan and told him that I would undoubtedly pick Cabrera first if given the number 1 pick. He has been the most consistent player over the last 10 years-never had a down season. I have no idea why he's so underrated. He is the best player in baseball-and arguably has been for a long time. I know the lack of stolen bases give people pause, but his other numbers more than make up for it.

He's not underrated. He's a top 3 pick in any fantasy league or top 3 in $$$ spent in any auction.

I had Cabrera as my #1 (and bought him in my auction league). I fully expected that either Braun or Trout (or both) would probably have a better year than him, but Miggy (barring injury) seemed like the only lock for top-10 value and still did have a chance for overall #1 type of value. I tend to take lots of risks in the middle to late rounds (or $1-$15 players) and try to take as little risk as possible in the early rounds.

I moved Braun down my boards enough that I didn't get him in any leagues to start this year, because of the threat of suspension. Oddly enough I just traded for him in one league over the weekend.

I don't know why everyone is foaming at the mouth over Braun's stolen base potential. When you have guys like Everth Cabrera, Juan Pierre, Nate McClouth, Coco, etc., guys who you get for dirt cheap in the latest rounds, sometimes even off the wire, what's so special about braun's 20-25 stolen bases? Miggy is way more valuable IMO.

Because those guys come nowhere close to 30 HR's,100 RBI's, 100 runs, and a .315 batting average.

By that logic what's so special about Miggy's homeruns when you can grab guys like Dunn, Davis, or Brown in later rounds and sometimes even off the wire?

It's silly to ignore an entire category when comparing two players. Braun's stolen bases have plenty of value because they require you to use less roster space on SB guys like the ones you listed. Those roster spots have value and using them on guys like those can hurt you in the other four categories (or at least 2-3 of them).

Adam Dunn and Ike Davis will hurt you. Juan Pierre and Coco Crisp will help you.
