Morrow for Asdrubal?(WHIR)

Postby kidsilk » Thu Feb 21, 2013 8:44 pm

16 team, keeper(as many players as you want per year) auction league with 300 dollar cap, points H2H league with pitchers slightly favored in the scoring.

I have been offered HIS Brandon Morrow(18) for my Asdrubal Cabrera(14). I need the pitching desperately and have Escobar to put in at SS so is this a good trade for me?

My keepers:

McCutchen(37)
Kinsler(31)
Posey(28)
Pence(26)
Hart(19)
Asdrubal(14)
Maybin(10)
Hosmer(5)
Alicedes Escobar(4)

Tim Hudson(17)
League(9)
Kenley Jansen(9)
Burnett(7)
Motte(7)
Cobb(4)

Overall I like Asdrubal better, but based on your team I think this is a good deal for you to make.

Yes your SP's are week, but no way I make that trade, Morrow is not an $18 player, keep Asdrubal and find pitching in your draft and through FA or make a trade later.

I think a lot depends on how SP is valued in your league. In a non-money format I like Morrow easily. However I have never done a auction/money type league, until this year joining one but haven't drafted yet. But with your pitching situation I don't think it really matters as you desperatly need SP help and by the end of the year I think $18 for Morrow will be a bargain.

If you're going to keep Tim Hudson at $17, that tells me how pitching is valued in your league, so Morrow at $18 seems like a great deal.

Good point.

Your pitching is gross and the league seems to heavily value pitching. I take Morrow.

Yeah I'd keep Morrow over Asdrubal. In a points league, Morrow is good for 7-8 Ks each start, plus if you award points for IP, QS, ER, W, etc., he should lock up 20-25 points per week in just one start compared to 15-20 per week from Asdrubal
