anybody remember when the Giants used to sign free agents early so that they would purposely lose their first round pick? That way they didn't have to pay the prospect.

I know this isn't really the question but the fact that every team has a stats team now is pretty much why he hasn't signed yet. People realize his ERA the past 2 years are not sustainable and he is still a 4 ERA true talent pitcher. He needs to be in a pitchers park with a good defense behind him to be effective and if you happen to be in a pitchers park with a good defense you can get your pitchers dirt cheap still.
