An ownerr in my league is trying to trade $1 Bruce Rondon. He wants a hitter for him.
The legue is a 14 team roto league. We keep 14 players.
Scoring
Hitting (AVG) (HR)(R) (RBI) (SB) (TB) (BB)
Pitching(ERA) (K) (WHIP) (W)(SV) (HD) (BAA)
He wanted to trade me $12 David Freese and $1 Rondon for $6 Billy Butler. I turned it down.
I tried to offer him a few starters different starters for him 1 sp for Rondon but he wants a hitter.
I could try and offer $12 Hunter Pence for him Rondon straight up. In this league closers tend to cost a lot each year because none get kept and everyone is chasing them in the auction. I really don't know if the potential of Rondon is worth the risk versus the know quantity of Pence.
I am a Tigers fan so I worry I am getting caught up in the hype ?

As far as I know, Rondon still has to battle for that closers role during spring training, so I would hold off on anything involving him for now.

Ask him what he wants and then get back to us.

He give me another trade offer but add bunch I didn't want. So that is why I thought about countering with Pence. I would like to make a 1 for 1 trade. I am not sure he would want that or really if I want Brue Rondon enough to give up his asking price.

I just don't see value in trading a proven player for someone you are hoping will have the closer position and you are hoping will pan out. The closer position is IMO not that crucial.

I could not have said it any better.
