You are allowed to keep: 2 players that you drafted between rounds 1-5 2 players that you drafted between rounds 6-10 2 players that you drafted between rounds 11-23
An owner is not required to keep players from any round. You can sacrifice a higher round pick for a lower round pick. For example, an owner could keep 4 players from rounds 6-10 if the owner gave up keeping all of his 1-5 picks. This allows us to keeper players that have a greater keeper value.

Here's my roster:
Erick Aybar(16) Jose Bautista(2) Pedro Ciriaco(23) Allen Craig(23) Paul Goldschmidt(17) Carlos Gomez(23) Curtis Granderson(10) Torii Hunter(23) Austin Jackson(23) Brett Lawrie(22) Buster Posey(8) Mike Trout(15) Joey Votto(1)
Pitchers Homer Bailey(23) Johnny Cueto(12) Marco Estrada(23) Roy Halladay(1) Steve Johnson(23) Clayton Kershaw(1) Ricky Nolasco(23) Andy Pettitte(23) Stephen Strasburg(17) Chris Tillman(23) Justin Verlander(4)
To me the locks are... Mike Trout(15) Buster Posey(8) Stephen Strasburg(17)
After that I am less decided. To me the following all need to be considered. Allen Craig(23) Paul Goldschmidt(17) Curtis Granderson(10) Brett Lawrie(22) Justin Verlander(4)
I would keep Votto even though he is a first round pick. Man reason being is how many first and second rounders are being kept league wide? What overall pick do you have? Sure you can throw votto back in but odds are he'll probably be the highest ranked player in the pool and what are the odds you can get him back in the draft or someone of his caliber. Since your already keeper Strasburg I would choose between verlander and kershaw alond with votto. My pick is kershaw.

What six do I keep? THANKS! ...and WHIR
I agree with these, but I would consider switching Grandy or Votto with Goldy.
(1) Votto (1, A top-10 player is worth it, and you have have some great value guys below) (4) Verlander (Verlander is worth it)
(8) Posey (a no-brainer) (10) Granderson (3rd/4th round value at 10th round price; need a Votto type of player to even out the batting average though)
(15, 17) Trout/Strasburg (If you're not as worried about pitching, then Craig over Strasburg and gain a couple of rounds on the pick).
This gives you: two top-10 overall players (Votto/Trout), Two of the top-5 pitchers in the league (Verlander/Strasburg), a nice 2nd/3rd rounder in Posey (at a shallow position) and a legitimate 3rd round power guy (Granderson). I would love to start with that roster.
My thoughts anyway. Either way, you have some nice pieces to build a great core.
Trout - 100% no-brainer Posey - 100% no-brainer Strasburg - 100% no-brainer Goldschmidt - a steal at 17th round AND he has already proven he can handle the bigs
Then it gets tricky....you have several option with great value:
Votto - a legit, no doubt about it 1st rounder Craig - a steal at 23rd round (I see him as a 6th-7th rounder) Lawrie - another steal at 22nd round (I have him as a 7th-9th rounder) Granderson - solid value at 10th round ( i value him in 4th-5th round)....but last yrs avg scares me Verlander - Solid value at 4th round (he is likely a 2nd rounder in most re-draft leagues)
I would actually go with Craig and Votto:
Craig is the best value in the bunch. And Votto is simply elite....you aren't getting him at a bargain, but you are getting him at a fair price, I wouldn't want to give him up.
If you simply refuse to keep a 1st rounder, I would keep Verlander. Verlander comes at a bit of a bargain (unlike Votto).....but when in doubt I always prefer to go with a hitter over a pitcher.....pitching is simply far less predictable. I like Lawrie a lot, but I would prefer to keep at least 1 elite player in either Votto or Verlander instead.
So, here is my official recommendation:
Trout Posey Strasburg Goldschmidt Craig Votto
(with Verlander on the bubble if you hate the idea of Votto)
One other thing: I saw lots of suggestions for Kershaw......NO WAY would I keep Kershaw!
Kershaw is a 2nd round guy....no way I waste a 1st round pick on him.....especially when you have Verlander (who is arguably better than Kershaw) available for a 4th rounder.
And when you have 6 keepers, the maximum number of pitchers to keep is two (and I would prefer to keep only 1 pitcher). Since keeping Strasburg, Verlander and Kershaw is out of the question......... and since Verlander is a MUCH better value than Kershaw......Kershaw is simply not a legitimate option (imho).
