Dude tore his ACL in the same leg AGAIN. Feel horrible for the guy. Do the Brewers stay in house until Hart is back or do they try and make a trade? Who would be a possible choice? Hunter Morris is in house, he would be the cheapest route to take, but do they fall too far off the pace with him at 1st every day? Can Hart come back mid-May?
damn, down goes Gamel. he was someone I was hoping to get this season.
Hunter Morris is an option. but he only played last year at AA. impressive numbers though. .303/.357/.563/.920/ 28 HR/ 113 RBI/ he is 24 years old.
but I have to imagine the Brewers will try and trade for someone, maybe someone who can play 1B as well as other positions. maybe someone like Greg Dobbs, Wilson Betemit, Jesus Guzman. there are also free agents still out there like Casey Kotchman or Mike Carp.

I think Kotchman signed with the Marlins.
you are right. after checking I see it's a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training. I was looking at yahoo before and beside his name I saw NA, and assumed that meant still a free agent. but the NA is because it's a minor league contract.

No biggie. In other news, Bobby Crosby, yes that Bobby Crosby, will be given time at 1B for the Brewers in ST.

if either Hart or Gamel were not injured, they wouldn't need Fielder and the price it would have cost to sign him. Gamel has the potential to do what Chris Davis did last season. even next year if he can return healthy, there is still the potential. he's only 27 years old now.
Tough loss, though thankfully it sounds like Hart's recovery is going well. Everything they've said so far is that the replacement will be internal. Hunter Morris is being given a long look (started today's ST opener), and they'll look at Alex Gonzalez and Taylor Green getting time there. I really hope the Bobby Crosby talk goes away quickly.
