Josh Rutledge vs. Ian Desmond

Postby Phreedom32 » Sun Feb 17, 2013 10:47 pm

I'm being offered Rutledge and Morrow for my Desmond. I've considered it, as well as countering for Rutledge and Scherzer. All things equal, do either of those deals sound fair or advantageous for my side? Desmond did miss 30 game last year and his power appears to be no joke.

I would take either of those especially Scherzer one

I really think Rutledge will have a good year

rutledge has upside.....but a lot of risk. And Morrow is risky in his own right, coming off a career year (his career era is still over 4.0)

And Desmond is a nice, safe option at SS....a commodity that shouldn't be overlooked.

I wouldn't trade Desmond for Morrow and Rutledge....now way.

If you could get him to give up Scherzer instead of Morrow, I think that makes it a fair trade. The risk and potential reward would balance out.

But I don't think Scherzer makes it a no-brainer for you. Since it would be a roughly even trade, It really depends on the rest of your team looks like. If you need more help at pitching, make the trade.......if your pitching is already solid, I would keep Desmond.

Help with mine?

Rutledge has a ton of upside I think he could be a top 5 option at either position by season's end. I'd take him and Scherzer.
