no DL for Rafael.
Rafael Betancourt (groin) will not require a trip to the disabled list.
Betancourt left Tuesday's game with a tight right groin, but it's merely some scar tissue from a previous injury. He was given anti-inflammatory medication and could be back in there as soon as Friday. Rex Brothers and Wilton Lopez could be in the mix for save chances until he's ready to go, but it doesn't sound like he'll have a lengthy absence.

I keep hearing conflicting reports on whether or not Madson is going to close for the Angels if or when he comes back.

Any thoughts? I've got him stashed on the bench as a 3rd option, but could drop him for Veras or play the Cubs lotto.

For what it is worth when the score was 7 to 2 today in the 8th with 2 runners on they had Jansen warming up so he was going to take the setup role today.

Actually, he gave up the game tying HR to Bautista and blew the save, then he was pulled.

But he might be on a short leash by now, despite his huge 2012.

Is Farnsworth the handcuff?

My money is on Joel Peralta being the handcuff for Rodney if he is pulled from the 9th inning duties. Nothing to support, just my opinion. Watched a few recent games against the Jays.

So...Let's rank some speculative adds this week.

I'll list and also rank in rough order off the top of my head and you add yours if I missed any:

Joel Peralta, TB
Rex Brothers, COL
Darren O'Day, BAL
Vinnie Pestano, CLE
Chad Qualls, MIA
Kyle Farnsworth, TB
Tommy Hunter, BAL
Pedro Strop, BAL
Mike Dunn, MIA

And also, Trevor Rosenthal, because I just feel like he's better than Mujica.

Leaving out some names of guys that should be owned in most leagues like Jansen, or already developed situations such as Boston where Tazawa and Uehara were stashed weeks ago.

Add Coello to that list. Frieri pulled from the save opp. tonight after giving up 2 runs.
