I noticed you placed Benoit as the Tigers closer, why do you have Coke so far back in the pecking order and Dotel as next man up? I'm not slamming you I'm just curious your reasoning.
See results of today's game.
but what about Benoit's earned run? You think he's still the "closer" or would Dotel be more likely?
They don't really have a lot to work with. Alburquerque probably possess the best arm but, like Valverde last year, is prone to walks and wildness, though he might be the best long-term choice of those in the majors. Villarreal throws the hardest but is small like framed like Alburquerque. Benoit is the safest choice and while Dotel has the most experience he has been somewhat brittle. Leyland wants Smyly to be an option to start and long relieve while Coke obviously isn't the answer. Rondon remains a possibility but needs time in AAA.
Does Leyland go safe with Benoit or maybe Dotel?
Current upside with risk Alburquerque or Villarreal?
Something outside the box like Smyly or move Porcello?
I'm comfortable with the order they are in now.
