Yup. I would grab Cecil or Delabar if Jannsen goes down. Santos has a ton of impressing to do when he gets back before he even gets considered as the go to 8th inning guy.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

Anyone know why Melancon got the save today instead of Grilli?

Rotoworld says they were giving him rest after Sunday's debacle.

So does today's usage says that in Boston, Uehara is the official closer?

Well, that, along with the fact that Boston already said that Uehara is the official closer. ;-) (At least until Bailey gets right.)

It's about time
After nearly blowing a three-run lead Tuesday night, Brandon League now will be used exclusively in "less stressful," situations, manager Don Mattingly said Wednesday. Until pitching coach Rick Honeycutt and bullpen coach Chuck Crim can help "piece him back together," Mattingly said he doesn't anticipate using League in one of the last three innings when the Dodgers have a narrow lead.

Another blown save for Jim Johnson. With O'Day also struggling, Tommy Hunter is clearly next in line and could be a good speculative add.

Koji Uehara looks like Jason Grilli 2.0 out there... age is just a number these two guys got ridiculous stuff imo. I got a feeling Koji is going to run away with this job, he's always put up great numbers... just look at that sick K/BB ratio!

that would be very speculative. Johnson has had a good june with a big run of saves. His shelling was only after he played for 3 straight days. They could easily just chaulk it up as a coaching error for overusing him.

anyone have some insight on potential closer trades?

or who might be a candidate to get into a trade....especially a trade that opens up a spot for a player not closing today....

example (ONLY), K-Rod traded from Milwaukee to DETROIT,,,,

that kind of thing???

thanks
