How often does one NOT keep the reigning NL Cy Young? Granted he's getting up there in years, last year was by far the best year of his career, and he's now in the AL East. But then I look at what he did against Tampa and Baltimore in Interleague last June in back to back starts (2 CGs, no ERs, 25 k's combined)...
Taking all of that into account, I need to decide between keeping Dickey or Kris Medlen. Very tough call. I'm already keeping Verlander and Strasburg. I am in "win now" mode, but also always have an eye on the future...Please help!
I have my doubts about Dickey, but it is hardly like Medlen is a sure thing either. Dickey on paper carries the most value so I think you have to go that route or cut a deal to trade up.
You are in win now mode so I say Dickey is the keep.

It really is a bit of a toss up. Dickey's numbers are projected to be solid, Medlen's are projected to be a bit better on ERA and WHIP. That being said, Dickey is projected at more than a few wins above Medlen.
Verlander and Strasburg should really set you well in ERA/WHIP/Ks, and I think Dickey gives you a chance at a knockout 1-2-3 staff. Medlen could be great, but Dickey's season last year (on the METS) I think give him an deserved edge.

I don't know what your league settings are, but you got a strong 1-2 punch already in your rotation. Can you shop Dickey for a bat and keep Medlen for the long-term?
That said, to answer your question, you're in "win now" mode, so keep Dickey.
