Keeper Wright or Posey?

Postby Crazed98 » Mon Feb 11, 2013 8:14 pm

I want to keep Wright but, every ranking I look at has Posey on top of him.

8team H2H league
Scoring:
Batting Average (AVG) Home Runs (HR)
Runs Scored (R) Runs Batted In (RBI)
Stolen Bases (SB) On Base plus Slugging Pct (OPS)

Posey is the pick. He is clearly ahead of all other catchers at this time.

Difficult. Wright is over rated at this point imo and does not have much lineup protection. Posey is a C which means less ABs and more injuries and generally they are bad idea to keep. Given the age though, I think you have to go with Posey.

Wright is great, but Posey is better, and you have to take position scarcity into account here. And Posey is by far the best at his position. In fact, many "experts" have him in a tier all his own at Catcher. Wright is elite, but not in his own tier by any means. Go with Buster.

please see my "Would I be crazy not to keep Dickey?" post. thanks.

Posey. It would be closer for me in a Roto league, but in an H2H league I trust Posey's consistency over Wright's (who was an MVP in the first half and not nearly as close in the second).

Plus, I agree with everyone else's comments on Posey above.

Wright is my all-time favorite players and I try to get him on every team I have.

However, if you can keep Posey you have to do it.

You can easily get another 3b but you cannot get another C the equivalent of Posey.

However, in a 8 team league I dont think it matters either way.

@Secretagentman - I don't think a Yankee fan can fairly access Wright. I don't think he is overrated, I think everyone knows what they get with him. .300 25 100 20 which is nice numbers for a 3b. I also think with Ike behind him he will have some lineup protection. I think his numbers would have been even better had the Mets signed Bourn.

Yea, me too that was my dilemma.

Thanks for all the help guys. I think Wright will have a very good year but, I'll just try and grab him in the draft.
