I'm a big Bumgarner fan, but considered Gio there as well. I'm still surprised that one guy is there...

Me thinks I know who it is... let me know when he's picked.

Sandoval was the guy...I considered him at 4.14. IMO, one of the best value picks in the draft so far

I don't know... I keep reading how disappointed the Giants are with how out of shape he is at the start of camp. Doesn't strike me as the sign of a player committed to taking it to the next level. Of course, the talent is there, so the pick could pay off well.

That is the reason I passed on him. He was out of shape to begin with and then I see that he gained ~20 lbs...

He sure has the talent to be a top 3B and is at a prime age, but he hasn't played a full season in 3 years and weight gain probably won't help him stay on the field.

And how many players every offseason "report to camp in the best shape of their life?" Maybe it's just me, but I don't put too much stock in offseason reports about what kind of shape guys are in...at least not this far before the season starts.

I understand that work ethic/attitude is very important & Derek Jeter is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum, but something like this is why I don't put too much stock into anything.

My buddies like to keep track of all the players that claim to be in "the best shape of his life". We call it the BSOHL Team.

This is the reason why I'm happy to let someone else roll the dice on him.
