Just got off the phone with Erick Aybar. He's excited to be joining my club this season and promises to have his best season yet. He also promised me that he won't injure his arm.

(Looks over at Granderson and Middlebrooks. :-[ )

I think it is safe to say that the closer run has begun. I may have gone a little early on Rivera.

I've asked "the powers that be" for help.

Yeah, we had the same issue on the basketball side where getting draft forum moderators certain powers, like sticky-ability, was problematic. What I remember is a Cafe moderator needs to go into your profiles and specifically assign these powers through checking a few correct boxes.

I've been talking with Mookie4Ever (who is one of the head admins), and he has been very helpful in trying to correct it, but for some reason it has not worked yet. I'll keep at it.

Until then, ya just gotta scroll...

Something I did in the recent mock we had was to just "bump" those threads on occasion so they would stay at the top.

You drafted him at 8.06, which isn't brutally early for a top tier guy, but it does seem a little early given how long these leagues seem to waiting on pitching (Pond Scum especially). I just drafted Rivera at 12.04 for example, but I've never seen a competitive league wait as long on pitching as PS did this year, so it's not the best benchmark. I wouldn't be wildly upset about drafting him at 8.06 unless he get hurt again, because otherwise he's about as reliable as it gets. Other than Kimbrel, Rivera is the only closer that I'll happily draft a little bit earlier than the other top tier guys. That bit me in the ass last year, but thems the breaks. :-b

You articulated my reasons for taking him there perfectly. Reliability- I wanted to set it and forget it in the saves cat for a while. I'm not upset at all with taking him in the 8th. It's just that, had I known that every one else was going to hold off until the 10th, though, I would have waited to take an RP until at least the 9th.
