I do the same thing. Usually with my C and my last pitching slot. I'm rather roll the dice on a maybe-closer like Benoit who helps my ratios than grab a mediocre starter that I'm going to want to drop before the season starts anyway.

Hahahahaha..... I take that as a compliment since I project my staff to be worth about $104 without a pick before the 9th round...................oh btw I have you at $74 ;-)

Not quite, my prices are end of season value prices not what you would expect to spend in an auction for one of the top 3 arms in the system which well could be 1/2 of $74.

Thanks Mookie, I liked the run down. I tend to have a lot of faith in veterans over young guys, so that could be my Achille's heel if many of them don't work out. We'll see who returns this year and who doesn't.

ZING! :-D I don't know about your overall roster, but I'm loving Trout and Harper on the same team, that's going to be fun. ;-D

With Trout, Harper, Stras and Lawrie I will lead the league in tickets and jerseys sold. That is until they all go on the DL for running headlong into and outfield wall then falling into a camera bay ... during warmups. Merry Strasmas to me.

I hope it's that simple. :-D

I intended to come out of the draft with 3 closers, but it didn't work out that way. I'm still pretty happy with my pitching, despite the Garza pick. (I don't know if the story broke before, but I only read about the setback an hour after the pick.) We'll see how much I get out of Ogando, Cashner, and Garcia.

My hitting is just okay, but I don't expect to be panicking/punting anything early. Not sure what to expect of Hicks -- I had him ranked very low coming into the spring. I didn't think the Twins would seriously consider him for the majors, without some time in AAA. But given that he seems to be in the lead for the cf job, he makes for a nice final-round roll of the dice.

Yep and if I must:

P - Ian Kennedy - $15
P - Doug Fister - $16
P - Josh Johnson - $14
P - Homer Bailey - $11
P - Matt Harrison - $10
P - Wandy Rodriguez - $7
P - Jason Grilli - $11
P - Grant Balfour - $11
P - Steve Cishek - $9

is worth $30 more than this ?!?!?!

P - Stephen Strasburg - $28
P - Jered Weaver - $25
P - Matt Harvey - $-2
P - Hisashi Iwakuma - $2
P - Miguel Gonzalez - $1
P - Erasmo Ramirez - $-11
P - Chris Perez - $7
P - Huston Street - $9
P - Fernando Rodney - $15

Yes I think that comes out to $30 less using an abacus or calculator. :-]

Now my offense that's another matter entirely with the early season losses of Tiex/Grandy/Ortiz I'm going to have to get lucky on the wire once these slugs are put on the DL. !+)

Wow. I would love to know what you project for Matt Harvey and why you think that he will fall on his face.
Seriously, you would pick Wandy or Steve Cishek before Matt Harvey?

I plan on two of Ramirez, Gonzalez and Iwakuma to be solid starters this year but they are all droppable if there is something better out there. They were my last round picks.

You would rather have Cishek and Grilli over Street and Perez? You're in the minority there.
