Who are my last 2 keepers?

I'm in a 12 team 5x5 roto keeper league. We keep 15 players with salaries totaling up to $320. Then we have a 17 round draft to round out our team and bench. We start the season with only 2 FA pickups and then are awarded an another one every 3 weeks. So keepers and depth are very important. I am pretty set with keeping these 13 players whose salaries total $288.

I have $32 left for my final 2 spots. My plan is to use that money on RP's so I don't go into the draft without any, which would force me to take some early and possibly miss out on a quality bat. I'm drafting 11/12 in a non snake draft. By round 2 all the established closers would be off the board.

Nothing wrong with Rutledge and his upside.
Motte (RP) $20 is a great keeper for you.
Maybe I'm the minority but I'd go with Rutledge over Rollins (only thing is unless Tulo gets injured he'll only keep SS eligibility through this season -- unless he plays enough games at SS to qualify - how many does he have to play there?)
I'd toss out an aging Rollins and keep Rutledge instead freeing up 7 dollars.

Motte+Reddick+Balfour = 20+15+15 equaling 50.
288 less 22 makes 266+50 = 316.

I'd toss Rollins back - keep Reddick instead with Balfour and Motte giving you sure fire pair of quality closers a good SS (for this season and if he plays enough games he can gain SS for 2014 as well.

Reddick is very underrated and has plenty of upside to hit 270/28/105 and out of your OF-4 slot that is pretty solid.

That way with your first two picks you can acquire the best available bat for your DH and maybe another SP who is best available or just the best available player (or do whatever) - I like balancing my team out and this IMO does that.

You need some speed, maybe you can acquire some cheap speed in the draft for your bench and DH (maybe you can get Bonafacio again in the auction for DH/bench off days)

This puts you at 316 4 bucks under your threshold. Whatcha think brody?

Now need to see if I can trade for an upgrade over Balfour. Figure Balfour, Jansen, and Rollins should be good trade bait.

I agree with Mad Dog above. Roll the dice w/ Rutledge over Rollins is what I'd do too

What about keeping Jansen over Balfour? Or should I just stick with someone who is slated as the closer to start the season?

Just saw on CBS sports this week that Janssen is slated as the closer to start season.

Not sure I'd stake too much on him, but he is as reliable as any other low level closer----who knows

I would just settle with those good bats you have---possible trade of JRoll sounds workable
