I'm excited about it because it should add value to lots of setup guys, and stop some of the closer craziness. I'd love to hear about your experiences if you're familiar with it.

Makes sense due to the fact that most teams still use their best bullpen arm to close out games. So in theory the closer usually has the highest K rate and lowest ratios which are the other categories that RP's impact.

You get roughly 20-25% more saves than holds each year so yeah I'd assume saves wins out. The best targets are probably elite holds guys who have a chance to take over as closers. Most closers lose out on both when they switch jobs while most holds guys can only grow into more saves and won't lose their job if they are elite. I think closers tend to get inflated in drafts as well just since people are more comfortable with that stat.

I'm expecting a mad dash for guys like Kenley Jansen, who could either set up or close, and throw lots of Ks with great ratios.

Any idea where you saw that? I'd love you long time for a link.

I'd love to see that link too. I keep searching for any type of rankings or projects for holds and/or solds. This thread is usually near the top of my search. ;-)
