I bring this up because it has some pretty major fantasy impact.
A's get Lowrie and an unimportant MR.
Astros get Peacock and Chris Carter and a prospect that probably doesn't matter for 2013.
Carter suddenly looks like a full time player. Peacock has a much easier path to a rotation spot. Lowrie is going to be a utility guy most likely and could end the season with 3B and 2B eligibility to go along with SS and might see some time at DH which would hopefully help keep him healthier. I'd say those marginal 2B guys for the A's take a hit in value. I'd have to assume this means Moss is a viable late round 1B for the A's as well now.

I'm actually going to bump up Carter quite a few positions. Probably Carter will be primarily used as DH in a great hitter's park.

This was a good move by the A's who really needed help in the infield.
Between 3B,SS, 2B and the occasional start at 1B against a tough lefty, I'd be very surprised if Lowrie didn't get 500+ ABs during the season (barring injury).

I think it helps his value. He was never going to stay healthy playing full time and the Astros lineup is bad enough it kills everyones value from a R/RBI standpoint. If he hits well I could see him play full time at 2B since the other options are all really mediocre. He'll find his ABs in that lineup. The A's are deep but they are deep with mediocrity in the IF.

Astros got more for Lowrie than Sox did
Astros have basically no choice but to play Carter full time and hope for the best, which could be great for his development (I know the Astros literally have other options, but you know what I mean)
