Interesting keeper options in a 12 team dynasty

Postby Seatownfavorite » Mon Feb 04, 2013 3:36 am

I play in a 12 team ROTO league where basically every stat is counted:

R, HR, RBI, SB, BB, K, GIDP, A, FPCT, AVG, OBP, SLG, XBH, SB%, DPT
W, L, SV, HR, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP, K/BB, K/9, OBPA, WIN%, SV%, QS, BSV

We keep 25:

C: Weiters
1B: Pujols
2B: Kipnis
SS: Hanley
3B: Sandoval
INF: C. Davis
LF: Holliday
CF: Trout
RF: Heyward
UTIL: N. Cruz
BN: Bruce, S. Perez, Morales, B. Gardner, Belt, D. Gordon, Cozart

SP: F. Hernandez
SP: C. Hamels
SP: T. Lincecum
SP: M. Moore
RP: F. Rodney
RP: T. Wilhelmsen
P: K. Jansen
P: G. Holland
P: E. Frieri
BN: B. Anderson, Beachy, Cashner, Bailey, D. Holland, Venters, Hughes, McGee

Which 9 do I cut? There are no trades prior to keeper time.

I'd hang on to Beachy stash him on your bench- he's an ace when he comes back midseason

This is the route I would go. Only thing I might do different is to keep Holland and drop Venters. I like Holland this year and still think he has some upside there. I didn't believe in his numbers a couple years ago but I think he could get close to those this year.

Thanks for all of the replies, this is where I am at:

:-t Gordon, Cozart, McGee, Hughes, Bailey

On the Fence (pick 4):

Gardner (I have a good steals base, if he's at the bottom of the order not a lot of upside)
Belt (Not sure how much power potential is there for a 1B, see him as a Billy Butler doubles type hitter)
Morales (Safeco, what can we expect?)
Holland (See the potential but so up and down)
Cashner (See Holland with Nice K ratio and less track record, especially in the rotation)
Venters (nice player but middle relievers with great ratios are easy to replace)

I have won 2 of 4 in this league and I rely heavily on pitcher K rate, so guys like Venters and Cashner are more interesting than Holland or Hughes. I won't cut Beachy.
