I'm not a big fan of AL or NL only leagues but I do prefer leagues that go deeper for sure. More positions, more teams in league, adding minor league players etc are all great. I'd rather just follow both leagues with my team though, not a big fan of just following the AL or the NL. Plus I hate the trades between leagues etc.

Yup this is how I feel as well.

My ideal league would be 14-15 teams. MI, CI, 5OF ...so around 350-400 players depending on bench size.

Plenty deep enough you start getting into some scrub players but not so bad that half your team are scrubs.


But we are sliding off topic here, I think we could go find and reopen another topic where this very thing has been discussed before if we need to.

Having just lost both Rafael Soriano and Michael Morse at bargain salaries, I hear what you're saying. I'd love to find some 24 team mixed leagues but the logistics are daunting. To get back on subject, I'd consider taking Cano before Pujuls in ANY format.

I think he is declining, and as he ages an injury could really ruin his numbers

He is still the #1 1B and top 5 first rounder until fate pulls a Nancy Kerrigan on his @$$, he takes a header into a pole while driving at 90mph somewhere, or his stats nosedive for no less than two back to back years.

That said, Cano over Pujols (or any 1B) is a very simple pick. Set it and forget it.

God, and the Angels gave him how many years in his contract. Oh no....

He' might be worth a mid-late 1st rounder but he's no top 3 player anymore...and not just this season either.

In the next 3 years he won't be a 1st round pick anymore, he is definitely in decline. I still like him in the 1st round this year though.
