Which 12 to keep (WHIR)

Postby BUCCOFAN » Thu Jan 31, 2013 1:51 pm

15 team deep roster Fantasy Points Keeper League.

Players have 3 year contracts then after there 3rd year, we can either top there salary, "hold there rights in the auction" and then when bidding stops we can keep or walk away from the contract. salary cap is $260 @ the auction, and $305 active roster salary during the season. We are also allowed to carry over one minor leaguer.

We start the following weekly, 2-Catchers, 2-1B, 2-2B, 2-3B, 2-SS, 5-OF, 1-DH (has to qualify @ DH 20 games played), 8-Pitchers (Starters or Relievers) plus have a 6 man bench, with a 3 man minor league slot. $100 FAAB throughout the season. Another thing, keeping 2-SS (Reyes and Segura) would lock me at that position and not allow me to bid on SS during auction, not that its a bad thing with those 2 in a 14 team league.

Please select my 12 keepers (below) Topper options count towards the list of 12. I have never gone this route before, but I believe I got a few options there (example Bautista and Gonzalez) that are intriguing.

Wow a one buck Lawrie, Hanranhan, and Medlen - 8-o Wow!

Agree with Hootie this time. He's got it nailed down. 8 bucks on Bourn still a bit low. You ahve some steals there. Its ok to pay for top shelf talent when they are young like Cutch.

Thanks....

-Drafting Lawrie his first season for $1, was a steal.....
- Hanrahan "dito" a little worried with his move to the AL, but still you can't go wrong with $1.
-Picking up Medlen last year when he made the show, for $1 was awesome, as it helped me win the title and now I got him for 2 more years at that salary.

I am leaning towards the following keepers and not protecting any toppers:
C - Y.Molina $11 (3)
1B - E.Hosmer $8 (3)
SS - J.Reyes $25 (3)
SS - J.Segura $1 (2)
3B - B.Lawrie $1 (3)
OF - A.McCutchen $30 (2)
OF - M.Trout $9 (2)
OF/1B - A.Craig $5 (2)
OF - M.Bourn $8 (3) (trying to move him for a 2B or 3B, or a Stud Pitcher)
P - K.Medlen $1 (2)
P - J.Hanrahan $1 (3)
P - AJ.Burnett $3 (2)
TOTAL = $103

Currently got an offer for Bourn, where I get Josh Johnson $19 back, however $19 might be too pricey for a keeper.
