I'm in a yahoo 10 team keeper league. Standard 5x5 scoring. We keep 3-5 players each year and I'm keeping Miggy, Votto & Holliday. We do an offline supplemental draft for rounds 4-5 since some people only keep 3 and others keep 4 or 5. This way once the regular draft starts we all have 5 players. It looks like I will have the 3rd supplemental pick and I'm struggling with who to take. Right now I'm considering Cliff Lee, Pedroia, or Harper. I'm hesitant with Pedroia at this point because it seems health has become somewhat of an issue the last couple of years. I like Harper a lot and think he would make a great future keeper for me going forward. Lee is very tempting as well because almost all of the top tier pitchers will be kept this year. Although there is a chance I could wait and try and land someone like Cain with my next pick. Or should I be valuing Cain higher than Lee this year? Right now those are the top players according to ADP that will be available at my pick. Any thoughts?
Tough to pass up Pedroia, but I would take Harper. That's a great start to your offensive lineup. To me, batters always trump pitching. Not sure how many players are on the rosters, but in a a 10-team league, there should be more than enough pitching to be had in the draft.

Here is a vote for Pedroia. I could see why its not the popular pick. But I think he will be healthy and when he is he can definitely be the .300 -100-20-90-20 guy he was in 2011. I roll the dice taking what could be the 2nd best 2B in baseball.
Thanks for the replies. I agree with the comments about Harper. I don't think I will go wrong with either pick at this point but I do think Harper has more value due to his age and upside potential. Thanks again everyone.
peds is a decent option he's more of a solid well rounded contributor when healthy but with Harper his upside is too immense in a 6x6 no less he can be an MVP year in and year out (think what Mcab did this year that's potential from him (or larry walker/holliday in his prime)
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!
Dude...I talked to Brett today and he is keeping Harper (as he should). He didn't say it was carved in stone, but I would put it at 99%. He is only keeping three, so he is currently going to throw Castro back in the draft.
If Brett happens to put Harper back in the draft, I would take Harper if he is there for you. Otherwise, I would take both Lee and Cain over Pedroia - and that's NOT because I signed a contract to never draft a hated Red Sox player I just think there is enough risk with Pedroia to pass on him at that point. I think you would have a chance to get him in the 2nd supplemental round, and if you don't, there will still be plenty of 2B available...all with risk, but no more risk than you would take with Pedroia...particularly if you take Pedroia that early.
