Too many good keepers to keep em all...

Postby BaseBallZ » Tue Jan 29, 2013 5:37 pm

Roto dynasty league standard 5x5 using OBP instead of ERA

Whom of the following should I keep using the first 7 rounds of draft?

Robinson Cano, Yoenis Cespedes, Billy Hamilton, Eric Hosmer, Brett Lawrie, Mike Trout, Troy Tulowitzki, Justin Upton
Trevor Bauer, Matt Cain, Yu Darvish, Kris Medlen, Max Scherzer

Cano, Tulo, Trout are my only real "locks"... so pick 4 more I guess.

I didnt wanna overcrowd outfield with Trout, Upton, Cespedes and soon to be Hamilton. (Havent heard talks of Hosmer moving to outfield this year YET)
But it may just be sick enough to make me win...

But 3B eligible Lawrie on stacked BlueJays seems nice.

Cain is safe but I dont know about dominant, like Yu Darvish COULD be.

Melden, Scherzer, and Bauer.... ahh u guys know wut it is already.

HELP! - and thanks in advance

Upton/Cespedes/Cain are locks

Last spot could go Hosmer/Lawrie/Medlen/Scherzer

i probably go Lawrie, but could see Medlen.

Robinson Cano, Yoenis Cespedes, Mike Trout, Troy Tulowitzki, Justin Upton, Matt Cain, Brett Lawrie.

The one debate I can see is wanting to keep a 2nd pitcher instead of Lawrie. I went with Lawrie as it seems there will be plenty of pitchers in your draft (You alone will be putting back Medlen, Darvish and Scherzer).

If you want to keep a second pitcher, I would keep Medlen over the other two. But I can see arguments either way.

Robinson Cano, Yoenis Cespedes, Mike Trout, Troy Tulowitzki, Justin Upton, Darvish, Cain.

I think Darvish is your best SP keeper, many will disagree with me, but I think he is going to end 5-6th best in baseball this year.

This is the route I'd go, it was tough between Lawrie and Darvish/Cain. I like the upside Darvish has to offer, especially with the k's over Cain. Lawrie just feels like the best you would find at 3B considering everyone is keeping 7. You'll be able to get another solid pitcher in the draft. As pointed out, you'd be dropping Cain, Scherzer, and Medlen alone. With the depth I expect to be available there, Lawrie becomes the clear choice.

Yeah getting a low end ace is not that bad really to pair with your keeper pitcher.
Risky set but I'd go this way:
Eric Hosmer 1b/CI
Robinson Cano 2b
Brett Lawrie 3b
J-Up, Yoenis Cespedes, Mike Trout OF
Cain SP

Watch this.
Focus on SP in draft.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!
