I like the amended trade much better, but it still leaves a lot of cuts to be made. But Votto is definitely an upgrade and it still sheds a little bit off the price.

This trade offer has now been amended to be a Bruce/Upton for a 2.50 Joey Votto. Hate to give up two stud bats for one, but with my salary issues, I don't have a lot of choice in trade or flat out dropping, some big time players. Thoughts? WHIR as always!

This trade is much better than the last. It cuts your salary cap problem basically in half (the last trade didn't) and moves one of the guys who is tremendously overpaid on your team in Bruce (the last trade didn't). The chance to get a first round bat in Votto and the salary cap savings makes this a good move. I pull the trigger on it.

I liked the Greinke deal better because of his price tag and I like Prince over Votto personally. But you have 2 other top OF so you can lose Upton/Bruce, cut salary AND vastly improve 1B (I'm really down on Morneaus future)

While I am not as on board with this as I was with the Votto deal, it is still a fine deal in regards that you are cutting salary and getting good players in return. I do not like trading Hamels, but the .80 difference between him and Greinke probably makes up for the difference. That still leaves you with a strong rotation. This also drastically improves your first base situation. Though, while I don't believe Morneau will ever be the player he once was, a dime for him is still pretty good.

I was pushing for a 3-2 trade, Bruce/Upton/Hamels for Fielder/Greinke, but he was dead-set on getting Rosario in the deal as well. I had him throw in Nick Markakis and Ryan Doumit and got the deal done. I have a full squad now and right at the $26 cap limit, providing our prices don't change before the prices lock down Feb. 1.

I could see dropping Brown to see if you can grab another sleeper in the draft. I would not however drop Grilli as he is closing in PIT and 0.50 is pretty good for a closer.
