Prado is not "weak".
His 2012 War was better than Justin Upton's alone. Add in Randy Delgado and some other solid prospects and the deal is quite fine for the Dbacks.
Right now here is the Dback's lineup (estimated)
Prado 3B Hill 2B Kubel LF Goldschmidt b Ross RF Montero C Parra CF Pennington SS Pitcher

Doesn't look that bad to me.
Pretty sure swap Ross and Prado. Gibson says he sees Prado as a #5 hitter and wants him up with guys on base. It's a decent line up, but worse than it was before the offseason imo.

That lineup isn't scaring anybody. They should all be glad they play in a bandbox.
A guy that can field every position, but has a league average bat (whopee), a young SP that's slowly getting worse and some filler rubbish. All this for the peak of a highly regarded OF.
You know that Upton only just had his age 24 season???
And that the Braves are one of the elite teams in baseball at growing their own pitching, so if one of their pitching prospects is GETTING WORSE, he's most likely not fixable??
Horrible.

Just to show how well regarded Pradois here in Atlanta, and how much he means to Brvaes fans: the headline in the Atlanta Journal Constitution today did not read, "Braves Trade for Justin Upton." It read, "Martin Prado is no longer a Brave."
Martin Prado is good, but he's no Justin Upton. Justin Upton is going to be so good. for most of 2012 Upton was dealing with a sore thumb. he finally got healthy in September.. .301/.354/.544/.898/ 6 HR. plus he's still only 25 years old.
