I have been running fantasy leagues since 1990 and last month I decided to start a brand-new league. This new league will be a deep NL only (12 or 13 teams) with standard 23-man roster plus 2-man bench (25 total). We will be a 4x4 league using HR, RP (RBI + RS - HR), AVG AND SB for hitters and Wins, Saves, ERA and Whip for pitchers.
This will be a non-keeper league with a FRESH AUCTION on CBS every year. I already run a NL keeper league but I really want to have an NL redraft league. So this is it.
The league entry fee will be $500 and we will use LeagueSafe for all payouts. I have used LeagueSafe for two years now and it is a commissioner's best friend when it comes to handling league finances. There will be a 100% payout (minus CBS' fee) to the top 4 or 5 teams (tbd).
We will use weekly transactions via FAAB. There will be no additional cost for transactions although we may vote on a transaction fee for trades. TBD...
These are the basic parameters that I would like to start with. Any league is ultimately a partnership among all owners so if the ownership group as a whole wants to change something, I'm flexible. But in a perfect world, based on years of experience and personal preference, this is how I would structure the league.
