Spreadsheet is great and draft tracker looks sharp. Should be very helpful for tonight's draft!

I'm not liking this trend of "give me a donation for my contribution to the community".

When did it become ok to leech off a community built on the back of everybody offering free advice and turn it into a place to sell cheat sheets?

What's next? People are going to start posting titles "Awesome fantasy draft strategy I figured out last year!" as a title, but require a Paypal "donation" before they reveal it?

In my opinion, if you want to do that, do it on your own domain/hosting/website. This is a community site for passionate fantasy baseball players all here to help each other freely. Which has been the case dating back to the site's inception (volunteer articles on front page, good, reliable hosting by the site's administration, and by passionate contributions from the community at no charge/donation required). And it should stay that way.

He is simply asking for a donation and there isn't a minimum donation amount. You can tell he has put hours/days of work into this.

If you don't want a copy then ignore the thread and good luck this season.

He's not simply asking for a donation. He's requiring a monetary transaction in exchange for the cheatsheet.

I'm no stranger to the time commitment of building cheat sheets. But I do it for love/passion of the game. And I've given away my cheat sheet here in the past. If I wanted some compensation for it, I would have enough class to build my own domain/website to offer it.

My main problem is that this site's traffic was built off the community's contributions dating back to its inception. All of these contributions were made freely. The reason why there's traffic to this site today is because of the hundreds of thousands of contributions made to it over the years (at no cost).

Why in the hell are we letting people leech off that traffic and profit off of it? It's tacky.

I have written thousands of posts of advice for free. I have written many articles for the main page for free. I have edited many articles for the main page for free. I have spent time organizing writers and articles for free. I have posted about the cafe all over the internet to try and increase traffic for free. It's kind of ridiculous to say I'm a leech given the ridiculous number of hours I have poured into this place.

I know I have also gotten a lot out of the community, but I'm simply not going to put in the number hours that this project took for free (not even just for myself). I'm not forcing anyone to pay for it, I'm just giving people the option to buy countless hours of work for any amount they feel is fair or can afford. Believe me, I'm not even making close to minimum wage on this, but I enjoy contributing to the community and it seems perfectly reasonable to get a little back in this case.

I think you are alone on this issue. I definitely appreciate GiantFan14 and J35J making these available the past few years.

Version 9 on it's way. Some projections updated, full snake draft tracker implemented that you can adjust for # of teams (only up to 14), auction draft tracker only works for your own team but you can adjust for # of teams, % spent on hitters, and how many hitters your league starts. This won't have an affect on pitcher values yet.

Draft tracker issues:
Players are not sorted by position (this is incredibly hard to do automatically)
Drafted bench players are treated as full value
Pitcher values are not automated yet

If you change any hitter projections, dollar values will automatically update. The changes must be made in the individual position tabs for this to work. Pitcher values are not automated yet.

If you have any questions about how anything works, please let me know. This will probably be my last update as we're getting close to the season, so good luck everyone. I hope I've been able to somewhat fill the void left by the absence of J35J's sheet this year.
