does anyone know when stamping of team signatures started on baseballs??

The autopen has been around since the beginning of the last century, but I'm not sure when it (or stamping) found its way into baseball clubhouses. With vintage signatures, I'd probably be more worried about ghosting by a clubhouse attendant than outright stamping. d18Mike probably knows far more about this than I do, though.
