I am interested to see how Salvador Perez performs this year. Not a big name in most prospect circles, but hitting .300 with 11HR in your first 300ABs is bound to garner some attention. I could see something like .280 15-20HR. I will take that from my catcher.

I've had him on the list for a couple of rounds. I also think he should bounce back nicely.
Hunter is old but durable and although I had Eaton/Revere targeted for this spot I'll take the vet. If he bats #2 all year he could be a huge bargain hitting in front of Miggy/Prince.

Lesson #1 from this mock- With the selections of Jesus Montero, Salvador Perez, Wilin Rosario and Miguel Montero in the 13th and 14th rounds, this confirms my earlier thinking -- despite the temptation, let your league mates take the C early and you shrewdly, fill in other needs; there is absolutely NO reason to waste an early C pick in single C, redraft leagues. Not that I don't like my Carlos Santana pick in 7th round (7.07, #91 overall), but my SP squad would feel a lot different to me had I gone Max Scherzer, Chris Sale or Matt Moore as opposed to Sanatana, then draft a C in 13/14. My intent was originally to do that, but didn't assume to see Santana there "so late". Notwithstanding, lesson learned as I'd go into battle with any 4 of those backstops. Great value picks, fellas.

when giantsfan comes on I'll have picks ready for therock and rj, so the turn will move quickly. Maybe we can get a full round in.
Agree on C, been saying my C pick was only justified on raw stats but my original plan was to take my C as my very last pick. 11 C's are taken and there's at least 3 good ones left.

I'm stunned catchers are going so late. I'm interested to check out some other mocks and see if this is a consistent trend. But had I known Montero would be available this late I think I would have passed on Buster early.

That's my mindset from this point forward too. I was curious to where he would go so I've been passing on the thought of him thinking other names would fly off the board first.

He's risky, but there are so many catchers out there, if it were a real league with 1 catcher I'm willing to gamble. All of the catchers being taken now are offering great value. Looks like outfield is the place to reach early.
