He was the top starter I had left. Was hoping to get him or Scherzer but I guess that was a stretch.

He was the next player on my list and man is there a steep dropoff. I was going to take him instead of Ortiz but I needed Ortiz more and didn't think he'd come back around.

Was also hoping Molina might fall back to me. He's my #2 ranked catcher this year.

Konerko isnt a sexy pick by any means, but I feel like he should produce solid numbers. I think .280 25HR should be within reach.

Love the Ike Davis pick here. Had a conversation yesterday with a couple of managers in my league where someone said Ike Davis is basically Teixeira but with upside. He was breaking chops of the Tex owner who had traded for him, but I don't think he is really far off. I can see Ike going .250 30 HR's 100 RBI. Can you really expect much more from Tex.

Bill James has

Ike .263 87-32-105
Tex .266 96-35-115

There's no way Tex hits .266. :-D

Undoubtedly, if Tex starts looking good for any reason, wait 2 rounds and grab Ike.

Konerko/Howard/Davis were my next 3, and of course my decision is made for me.

Thanks guys.

About time Shields got picked! I would have had to take him even though I wasn't looking for a pitcher this round. You made my choice easier. Thanks ;-D
